JOY is freely available for academic users. The program should run on a machine with any UNIX-based operating system.

To obtain the source code, take the following steps:

1. Apply for an academic licence (see below).

2. The University of Cambridge will send you a draft agreement for your review.

3. If you are happy with the agreement, arrange for one copy to be printed, signed by you and the authorized representative of your institution and returned by fax or email.

4. A countersigned copy will be sent to you and you can download the software.
